A 31-year-old San Fer­nan­do man is dead and his fe­male com­pan­ion is now ward­ed at hos­pi­tal af­ter they were am­bushed by a gun­man in Ste Madeleine on Sun­day night.

Ryan Alexan­der, 27, of Rush­worth Street, was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal af­ter suf­fer­ing gun­shot wounds in the at­tack.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, Alexan­der and An­drea Yusuff, 25, of Tar­o­dale Hills, Ste Madeleine, were sit­ting in a car near her home when a gun­man at­tacked them.

Po­lice said they re­ceived a re­port of a shoot­ing along Green Hill and when they re­spond­ed around 11 pm they found Alexan­der and Yus­suf bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds. They were tak­en to the hos­pi­tal by the po­lice. Two chil­dren who were in the back­seat es­caped un­hurt.

So far, no one has been held for the fa­tal shoot­ing
