A 24-year-old man remains hospitalised after he was stabbed several times during a violent altercation at Royal Bar, Guapo Cap-de-Ville Main Road, Point Fortin, around 10 am on Saturday.
The victim, of Cap-de-Ville, was stabbed in the left forearm, both shoulders, right side of the abdomen, left chest, back of the neck, and lower right back.
Police said a 30-year-old man from New Village, Point Fortin, claimed he had been liming outside the bar when an argument broke out. He alleged the victim pointed a firearm at him, prompting him to draw a knife from his pocket and stab the victim multiple times.
The suspect ran off after bystanders intervened and later went to the Point Fortin Hospital with an injury to his right palm. He could not explain how he was wounded.
The victim was also treated at the hospital and remains warded.
