Minister in the Ministry of Finance Brian Manning was discharged from the Couva Hospital and is recovering at home, while his colleague Minister of Sports Shamfa Cudjoe is back to work today after her bout with COVID-19.

Guardian Media confirmed this yesterday. Manning and his wife Shelly Dass-Manning contracted COVID-19 just over a week ago. Dass-Manning suffered harsh symptoms over a short period but Manning was admitted to a medical facility and later transferred to Couva Hospital.

Guardian Media was told that his oxygen intake was affected heavily by the virus. But Manning, who has no comorbidities and was fully vaccinated, is well on the mend and resting back at home.

Cudjoe, who was also down with COVID in recent weeks, was recuperating at home. She said yesterday she did a PCR test last Thursday and the results were negative.

“I’m back to work (today). I’m vaccinated and I’d urge everyone to get their vaccination.“

Since the government Ministers contracted COVID-19 recently neither Cudjoe nor Manning can have a third booster shot just yet. They will have to wait the required three months.

So far Government Ministers who have had COVID include Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Ayanna Webster-Roy, Cudjoe and Manning.
