Manzanilla businessman beaten, robbed

RALPH BAN­WARIE 

Fifty-five-year-old Jerome Hen­ry, own­er of Ham­mer Head Bar, East­ern Main Road, Man­zanil­la, is nurs­ing head in­juries af­ter four masked men, one armed with a gun, en­tered his bar yes­ter­day morn­ing and held him up.

The in­ci­dent took place around 12.15 am. The man whipped out a gun from his waist and point­ed it in Hen­ry’s di­rec­tion. The four ban­dits then be­gan to beat him on his head and body. He fell on the floor. They re­lieved him of cash from the day’s sale, cig­a­rettes, al­co­hol, a Dell lap­top, and a Sam­sung A34 cell­phone. 

The ban­dits made their es­cape on foot along the coast of Man­zanil­la Beach. Po­lice of­fi­cers W/Cpl Clarke-Hospedales, PCs Moore, and Willie of Man­zanil­la Po­lice Post re­spond­ed.

The in­jured bar own­er was tak­en by po­lice to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal, where he is ward­ed in sta­ble con­di­tion. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing by W/Cpl Clarke-Hospedales of the Man­zanil­la Po­lice Post.
