Days be­fore his mur­der, Jessie Kay­lan left a voice­mail in which he told rel­a­tives he had been threat­ened by a man who ac­cused him of hav­ing a re­la­tion­ship with his girl­friend.

Kay­lan, 30, of Thomas Trace, Matu­ra, was re­port­ed miss­ing and on Tues­day his body was found a short dis­tance from his home.

A search par­ty com­pris­ing of­fi­cers from the Matu­ra Po­lice Sta­tion, fire of­fi­cers from San­gre Grande, Cap­tain Val­lence Ramb­harat from Hunters Search and Res­cue and found the body around 2 pm on Tues­day about 100 feet from the road­way on Thomas Trace.

The body was iden­ti­fied by his broth­er Travis Alexan­der, of Damarie Hill, San­gre Grande.

Crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors processed the scene and Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer Dr Trim or­dered the body re­moved to Allen’s Fu­ner­al Home, San­gre Grande, pend­ing a post-mortem at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre, St James. Cpl James of the Arou­ca Homi­cide Bu­reau Re­gion 11 is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Rel­a­tives de­scribed Kay­lan as am­bi­tious and hard-work­ing.

Po­lice said an ar­rest is im­mi­nent.
