In­di­an Ar­rival Day will be in the spot­light when the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion’s ‘On The Pavers Con­cert Se­ries’ con­tin­ues on Fri­day 24 May 2024, with the lat­est edi­tion ti­tled ‘Route To Ar­rival’.

Be­tween noon and 1:00 pm to­mor­row, stu­dents from Pe­nal Rock Road Pri­ma­ry, Bal­main Pres­by­ter­ian Pri­ma­ry and Freeport Hin­du Pri­ma­ry Schools will fill the Ed­u­ca­tion Tow­ers (on St Vin­cent Street in Port of Spain) with their cul­tur­al per­for­mances.

“The ‘Pavers’ con­cert se­ries is an op­por­tu­ni­ty to give demon­strat­ed ef­fect of one el­e­ment of the MoE’s Cul­tur­al Trans­for­ma­tion Pol­i­cy and pro­vides stu­dents with an op­por­tu­ni­ty to gain con­fi­dence in their stage pres­ence and pro­file their tal­ents,” the ed­u­ca­tion min­istry said in a re­lease.

Ac­cord­ing to the min­istry, dur­ing the con­cert se­ries, pri­ma­ry and sec­ondary school stu­dents will per­form and dis­play var­i­ous art­forms such as so­ca, chut­ney, tas­sa, steel­band, dra­ma, and dance among oth­ers.

The min­istry says this lat­est edi­tion of the se­ries sees it lever­ag­ing the suc­cess of the “Parang on the Pavers” and "Car­ni­val on the Pavers" edi­tions.

“Route to Ar­rival” will spot­light the var­ied con­tri­bu­tions of in­den­tured labour­ers from In­dia to this coun­try, in ob­ser­vance of In­di­an Ar­rival Day, which is com­mem­o­rat­ed an­nu­al­ly on May 30.
