It was another day of flooding frustration across parts of Trinidad yesterday.
Slow-moving showers and thunderstorms dumped heavy rainfall across parts of Gasparillo, Reform Village, Penal and Bonne Aventure in south Trinidad and Cashew Gardens in central Trinidad
Councilor for Reform/Manahambre Chris Hosein said he was completely frustrated with the incompetence of the Ministry of Works as their disregard for his district has resulted in extensive damage and losses faced by the people.
After venturing to Reform Village, he visited several homes in Temple Street, Railway Road, Cottage Road, and Black Street which suffered damage and losses as a result of the flooding.
Further north, the HDC development of Cashew Gardens experienced flooding for the first time for some residents. Though they have been calling for nearby watercourses to be cleared, residents claim their calls have fallen on deaf ears.
Up to late yesterday, severe street and flash flooding remained ongoing across parts of Penal, with Wilson Road Junction at Clarke Road, Penal impassable to smaller vehicles. Similar statements were echoed by residents of Clarke Road, Penal, who claim that their calls for proper drainage to the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation were of no use.
