A Morvant man is in critical condition at the hospital after he was struck while crossing the road on Tuesday.
Police said the 57-year-old driver of Thompson Trace, Morvant, was said to be in a critical condition yesterday.
The accident occurred around 8.30 pm on October 21, in the vicinity of Pitch Road, Lady Young Road, Morvant.
Police said the driver, who is from Pierre Road, Charlieville, was proceeding along Lady Young Road when the victim allegedly ran across the road, whilst pushing a wheelbarrow of grass.
The driver contacted the Emergency Health Services, who took the man to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where he underwent several tests and was in a critical condition pending further body scans.
Several eye-witnesses reported the victim had been running back and forth across the road, moving recently cut grass to the other side of the road. - ALP
