Mount Irvine Bay Resort in Tobago has won the LUXlife 2023 Resorts & Retreats Award at the 30th World Travel Awards (WTA) & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023 held at Sandals, St. Lucia.

The resort has been working with Lévé Global a strategic and business transformation consultancy headed by Trinidad-born travel and tourism strategist Dr. Auliana Poon.

General Manager Alpha Lourde who was elated by the achievement said sustainability is a core commitment for the Resort as it aligns with the company’s vision for responsible growth.

“For us, sustainability is not just an option but a fundamental aspect of delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. And we are glad to work closely with the Leve Global Team to deliver on this promise to our guests,” he said.

“It is not often that you come across a partner that understands the tourism business, the tenets of responsible tourism and how this can be successfully implemented and marketed but that has walked that road also. This is what we got from Leve Global… an international partner who understands the tourism business and the crucial role of sustainability in catering to the evolving needs of travellers, generating profits, and safeguarding Destination Tobago.”

Two other clients of Lévé Global also walked away with accolades at WTA.

Fond Doux Eco Resort, situated on a 250-year-old cocoa plantation in St. Lucia, won the 2023 Leading Caribbean Green Resort. While Dominica took the #1 island spot in the Caribbean and proudly stands as the #8 island in the world in this year’s ‘World’s Best Awards’ – an honour they are celebrating for the second consecutive year.

Lévé Global has partnered with the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) to develop Dominica’s National Tourism Policy, the Tourism Master Plan, and the Authority’s Corporate Strategy.

DDA Chief Executive Officer Colin Piper, applauded Lévé Global adding: “the quality of the work carried out was excellent.”

Dr. Poon congratulated Mount Irvine Bay Reort, Found Doud Eco Resort and Dominica on their achievements.

“Lévé Global has been a pioneer in responsible tourism, steadily building out its digital technology, depth of human resource capacity, and data capabilities over the decades,” said Dr. Poon.

“We are presently focused on working with small tourism enterprises in revolutionising their digital marketing strategies that will distinguish the businesses from the traditional Caribbean narrative of sun, sea, and sand. We are all about letting the world fall in love with the authentic natural vibe of the Caribbean, its peoples, and its stories.”

WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.
