Cou­va North MP Ravi Rati­ram wor­ries now that the Roops­ingh Road Bridge has col­lapsed it will cause block­age of the La Cue­sa Riv­er and pose a sig­nif­i­cant threat to the safe­ty and well-be­ing of the com­mu­ni­ty. He’s call­ing on the Min­istry of Works to clear the col­lapsed con­crete base.

Rati­ram wor­ries that if the riv­er is blocked it could cause flood­ing in near­by Joyce Road, Chan­dan­er­gore, Ko­rea Vil­lage, Bank Vil­lage Wa­ter­loo, and the wider Cou­va North com­mu­ni­ty.

The op­po­si­tion MP says he’s raised the is­sue with Min­is­ter of Works Ro­han Sinanan be­fore in Par­lia­ment, as far back as No­vem­ber last year.
