Head of the Municipal Police ACP Surrendra Sagramsingh has issued a warning letter to workers of the Judiciary, Parliament, The Hall of Justice, NALIS, the Police Administration Building, and Trinidad and Tobago Regiment who park on the taxi stands on Hart Street.
The letter dated April 12th states that taxi drivers complained about three-fourths of the taxi stand being utilised by private cars.
ACP Sagramsingh warned the people parking illegally to discontinue immediately or they will be penalised.
He further warned that if parking on the taxi stands on Hart Street continues, arrangements will be made to have the vehicles removed by a wrecker.
Vice President of the St. Ann’s Taxi Drivers Association Ronald Frederick said he has already seen a change in the amount of vehicles parking on Hart Street.
“We are satisfied as an association we are definitely satisfied thanks so much, my observation was even the day we did the interview as I said cars were parking a little lower down,” Frederick said.
Frederick confirmed that he did have a conversation about the issue with ACP Sagramsingh.
