A 37-year-old un­em­ployed man, who on­ly two weeks ago moved in­to Farm Road, Madoo Singh Ex­ten­sion Bois Bande Set­tle­ment, San­gre Grande, was found dead with gun­shot wounds to his body in his bam­boo shack.

The dead man has been iden­ti­fied as Kawi Dhani­ram, al­so called Blacks, for­mal­ly of De Gannes and Jawahir lands, Cu­nar­ipo.

Po­lice re­port­ed that around 1.50 am they re­spond­ed to calls from res­i­dents of Farm Road, Madoo Ex­ten­sion Bois Bande Set­tle­ment who said they heard sev­er­al gun­shots

On ar­ri­val the po­lice found Dhani­ram wound­ed but still alive.

He was tak­en to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal where he un­der­went emer­gency surgery but suc­cumbed.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, Dhani­ram was one of the sus­pects in a $300,000 rob­bery which took place three weeks ago and went in­to hid­ing at Farm Road, Madoo Singh Ex­ten­sion Bois Bande Set­tle­ment, where he built the bam­boo shack and was stay­ing for the last three days.

His killing pushed the mur­der to­tal to 184 for the year.
