Three men were denied bail when they appeared before an Arima
Magistrate Thursday, charged with shooting with intent at police officers.
According to a statement from the police service, Kyle Barker also called Wiggles, 22 of Arima, Michael Mc Clean aka ‘Mini Man’, 36, of Morvant, and Miguel Wallen, 22, of Arima, were also charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition,
possession of a firearm to endanger life and possession of ammunition to endanger life, when they appeared before Magistrate Cheron Raphael, in the Arima Magistrates’ Court.
The accused were not called upon to plead and were remanded into
custody. They are to re-appear in court on Thursday 19 March
The three were held on February 21, by officers of the
Northern Division, following a police-involved shooting incident in the Arima district a week before their arrest.
During the incident, a fourth suspect was fatally wounded by officers. He was later identified as Akiel Kalon Hypolite.
Police said two firearms and a quantity of ammunition were recovered from the scene of the shooting.
The trio was charged by ASP (Ag.) Gyan of the Northern Division.
