Patron and founder of the O2N Foundation Nicole Dyer-Griffith says this year’s O2N Style 2 Style Me Caribbean Trade Exhibition is the biggest and most successful event to date.
Speaking to the Sunday Guardian at the festival at O2 Park, Chaguaramas, today, Dyer-Griffith said
“We’re at least two to three times bigger than we were last year because we had about 15 exhibit spaces; this year we’ve reached about 40 exhibitors.
“This year also we have regional designers and designer labels showing as well as persons exhibiting.
“Last year was one main event, that changed significantly this year.
“It was very ambitious, stressful, and financially draining because we went from a one day event to an entire week plus of events with a media launch, a prelude showing for members of Diplomatic Corps, one of the largest panel discussions in the history of the country, two capsule showings at the Hyatt Regency, and culminating in this weekend festival.”
She said the foundation wouldn’t have been able to do it without many corporate partners who came on board and those who supported the vision.
Dyer-Griffith said it was no easy task what Creative Director of O2N Style Richard Young and her had accomplished with the support of partners.
She said there was a gap in the creative industry to be filled and not only in the fashion industry.
Guardian Media Limited (GML) was also at the event to promote it’s new “We - Woman Empowerment” magazine in today’s Sunday Guardian.
Jodi Mahon, GML’s Head of Corporate Brand, Marketing & Communications said Guardian Media was proud to launch “WE —Woman Empowerment”, a brand new magazine for today’s women at the O2N Style event this weekend.
She said the magazine promised weekly content where women can bare their souls, find their tribe, inspire change and discover their truth.
Sache Alexander, editor of the magazine said this was everything that women were supposed to represent in T&T.
She said it was the go-to place for women to find out about fashion, style, to be empowered to feel inspired by stories from other women to discuss the issues that women faced globally, regionally and in the country and more so to just feel that there was a place that represented them.
The Runway Design Collection will be featured today at O2 Park, Chaguaramas.
