One arrested, firearm, ammunition recovered in Point Fortin

One per­son has been ar­rest­ed, and a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion re­cov­ered dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in the Point Fortin dis­trict by of­fi­cers of the South West­ern Di­vi­sion.

The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed be­tween 12:30am and 5:30am, to­day, Mon­day 29th June 2020.

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Ag Sgt Pam­phille and su­per­vised by Ag Cpl Be­dasie, and con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers of North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force and PC Joseph of the Mal­abar Po­lice Sta­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports, dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a search at a house on War­ren Road, Point Fortin, where they found one black and gold MAC 10 firearm fit­ted with one mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 14 rounds 9mm am­mu­ni­tion.

One sus­pect was ar­rest­ed.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
