Three men were shot yesterday on Piccadilly and St Paul streets, Port-of-Spain, in the vicinity of the Drag Brothers craft store.
According to reports, the three men were taken for medical attention at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where one of the victims, 37-year-old Darren Douglas, aka Spooky, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Douglas was shot in his left hip, right arm, and the right side of his back. The first victim in the attack, 36-year-old Jason Williams, aka Bingo, was shot at the right side of his mouth and is in critical but stable condition.
The second victim, 37-year-old Jonathan Traboulay, from Tunapuna, sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his neck but is in stable condition.
According to the TTPS, around 3.05 pm, a masked man exited a blue Nissan Cube with an unknown registration number and fired several shots in the direction of the Sweet Hand shop located on the corner of Piccadilly Street, hitting the men.
The suspect then returned to the vehicle and escaped south along Piccadilly Street.
Investigations are continuing.
