Payless ShoeSource will mark its tenth year of support for the battle against Breast Cancer with its “Embrace the Cause” initiative.
Since 2008, Payless has been donating the net profits from the sale of its Payless Designer Bracelets, which go on sale during the month of October, to the cause. More recently, Payless added its very stylish limited edition Champion sneakers and socks to the items available for sale during the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, where part proceeds go to the Cancer Society of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Double Silver hearts are an integral part of the 2018 Payless Breast Cancer bracelet which shoppers anticipate every year. The special Gusto Champion Shoe with pink accents was developed to highlight the campaign supporting this initiative. Both Items are a limited edition and only available from Payless ShoeSource until October 31.
The drive is happening now throughout Latin America and the Caribbean as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month and all Payless customers who purchase any of the items will also receive an additional incentive of 20 per cent discount redeemable from October 30 to November 14.
Speaking about the initiative, Vitas House Hospice chairman Dr Jacqueline Sabga said, “Vitas House has been the beneficiary of the profits from this Payless ShoeSource initiative “Embrace the Cause” for the past nine years and it has been an honour and privilege for us. This year, Vitas House Hospice proudly celebrates 10 years of providing quality care to terminally ill patients with cancer.
“We depend on the generosity or corporate citizens like Payless to keep our hospice running efficiently, to help us raise awareness about this dreaded disease and to encourage early testing. We invite shoppers to go out and purchase the items at Payless as the funds raised continue to make a significant impact on our work at Vitas House and we are very grateful”
Also commenting on the drive, Payless ShoeSource country manager Jerus Mohammed said, “Our unfortunate reality is that every one of us knows someone who has lost someone to cancer, yet there is no cure. What we can do however in our own little way is support the organisations that toil tirelessly to help those with this disease.
“Over the last 10 years Payless has been supporting a number or charitable organisations in Trinidad and Tobago, Vitas House is just one. Every October we join hands with Vitas House to spread the message of early detection. We urge our customers male and female to come into our stores and purchase the Breast Cancer Bracelet, Socks and Sneakers. When you do this you are doing your part to help the terminally ill at the hospice and this is our aim.”
