?The Priority Bus Route (PBR) will be opened to the public from 4 am today.
Days after he assumed office in the Ministry of Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner said citizens would have access to the PBR during peak hours. From 4 am to 6 am the public can access the PBR once there are three passengers, including the driver, in a vehicle. No commercial vehicles will be allowed. It will then be closed off for two-and-a-half hours from the public. Only maxi taxis and authorised vehicles will be allowed during that time.
It will then be reopened from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm to the public. After 2.30 pm only maxi taxis and authorised vehicles will be allowed to use the PBR. Failure to follow these instruction can lead to a driver being fined up to $2,000. Communications specialist in the ministry, Michael Lewis, said Warner would be on the PBR from 4 am to witness the flow of traffic.
