?The Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route (PBR) will be opened to the pub­lic from 4 am to­day.

Days af­ter he as­sumed of­fice in the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port Min­is­ter Jack Warn­er said cit­i­zens would have ac­cess to the PBR dur­ing peak hours. From 4 am to 6 am the pub­lic can ac­cess the PBR once there are three pas­sen­gers, in­clud­ing the dri­ver, in a ve­hi­cle. No com­mer­cial ve­hi­cles will be al­lowed. It will then be closed off for two-and-a-half hours from the pub­lic. On­ly maxi taxis and au­tho­rised ve­hi­cles will be al­lowed dur­ing that time.

It will then be re­opened from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm to the pub­lic. Af­ter 2.30 pm on­ly maxi taxis and au­tho­rised ve­hi­cles will be al­lowed to use the PBR. Fail­ure to fol­low these in­struc­tion can lead to a dri­ver be­ing fined up to $2,000. Com­mu­ni­ca­tions spe­cial­ist in the min­istry, Michael Lewis, said Warn­er would be on the PBR from 4 am to wit­ness the flow of traf­fic.
