A pen­sion­er who re­turned to a car wash in Gas­par­il­lo ex­pect­ing to find his ve­hi­cle sparkling clean, was left stunned when he dis­cov­ered it was miss­ing.

Po­lice said on Mon­day around 11 am, the 71-year-old man left his White Nis­san Car­a­van Pan­el Van, val­ued at $70,000, at a car wash on Rail­way Road, Re­form Vil­lage near the Feed De­pot.

He left the keys with the own­er. When he re­turned three hours lat­er, his van was miss­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice re­port, the own­er of the busi­ness in­di­cat­ed that she left the keys on the stairs and had no idea who took the pen­sion­er’s ve­hi­cle.
