Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar con­tin­ued her long­stand­ing tra­di­tion of spir­i­tu­al fel­low­ship and com­mu­ni­ty en­gage­ment by mak­ing nine stops at Hin­du tem­ples across her con­stituen­cy on the sa­cred night of Sun­day in­to Mon­day in ob­ser­vance of Ma­ha Shiv­ara­tri 2026.

A state­ment from the Of­fi­cer of the Prime Min­is­ter said she was warm­ly wel­comed by res­i­dents and devo­tees at each lo­ca­tion—com­mu­ni­ties she has faith­ful­ly vis­it­ed for more than 20 years dur­ing her ser­vice as Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Siparia. It said through­out the night, the Prime Min­is­ter of­fered words of en­cour­age­ment and grat­i­tude to at­ten­dees and ex­tend­ed heart­felt wish­es for Lord Shi­va’s bless­ings up­on all present and up­on the na­tion. She al­so en­cour­aged par­ents to con­tin­ue in­still­ing strong moral val­ues in their chil­dren, em­pha­sis­ing that ed­u­ca­tion re­mains the most pow­er­ful path­way out of pover­ty and the foun­da­tion for build­ing re­spon­si­ble cit­i­zens and a stronger so­ci­ety.

The Prime Min­is­ter, who was joined by var­i­ous Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the area, con­clud­ed her fi­nal vis­it af­ter 2 am yes­ter­day.
