Point Fortin man stabbed multiple times during quarrel outside bar

A 24-year-old man re­mains hos­pi­talised af­ter be­ing stabbed re­peat­ed­ly dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion at a bar in Point Fortin on Sat­ur­day.

Po­lice said the in­ci­dent oc­curred around 10 am at Roy­al Bar along the Guapo Cap-de-Ville, Main Road.

The vic­tim of Cap-de-Ville, Point Fortin, was stabbed with a knife in his left fore­arm, right shoul­der, left shoul­der, right side ab­domen, left chest, the back of his neck, and right low­er back.

The 30-year-old sus­pect of New Vil­lage, Point Fortin, was held by po­lice seek­ing med­ical treat­ment. He had an in­jury to his right palm.

Po­lice said the sus­pect claimed that he was sit­ting in front of the Roy­al Bar when he had an al­ter­ca­tion with the vic­tim who al­leged­ly pulled out a firearm and point­ed it at him.  The sus­pect claimed he took out a switch­blade al­so called a flick knife from his pock­et and be­gan stab­bing the vic­tim.  On­look­ers in­ter­vened and con­tact­ed the po­lice and am­bu­lance.

Po­lice said the sus­pect ran off and made his way to the Point Fortin Hos­pi­tal. In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the sus­pect could not ex­plain how he got the wound on his right palm.

The vic­tim was hos­pi­talised at the same fa­cil­i­ty.
