The investigation into the death of Doodhani Vishvati Sooknanan has stalled as the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is yet to be done.
The delay comes as Sooknanan’s relatives continue to refuse requests by officers to visit the Forensic Science Centre, St James, to identify her body and sign the relevant paperwork.
Their refusal has now left officers appealing to anyone who knows Sooknanan and can assist in the identification process to come forward.
One officer explained, “It can be a friend, neighbour, former co-worker, anyone who knew her and can identify her. It does not have to be a blood relative.”
The decomposing body of Sooknanan, 74, of Torenia Drive, Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, was discovered partially stuffed under a bed on January 8, by police officers conducting a welfare check at the residence.
Sooknanan shared the townhouse with her daughter, son-in-law, and autistic granddaughter.
Neighbours reported a foul stench coming from the apartment in the days leading up to Christmas, when it is believed that Sooknanan would have died.
Hours after Sooknanan’s body was found, a relative posted several disturbing messages on Facebook claiming, “With regards to One of the head terrorists on Planet Earth, devil mary sooknanan, devil mary sooknanan has died. As per 3I/Atlas’ warning, 3I/Atlas Crew stated that they will begin the destruction against evil on December 19th 2025. 5 million years ago, devil mary sooknanan, devil saoirse ronan, devil kamla persad-bissessar and some other reptilians killed Lord Dorian who stayed in Andromeda. The 3I/Atlas Crew is here to destroy all evil.”
Officers have recommended that mental assessments be carried out on relatives who reside at the residence.
