The Po­lice Ser­vice says it will be ex­tend­ing its cour­tesy to the Sanatan Dhar­ma Ma­ha Sab­ha, by pro­vid­ing a marked po­lice es­cort dur­ing the fu­ner­al of its late Sec­re­tary-Gen­er­al, Sat­narayan Ma­haraj, which is sched­uled to take place on Tues­day.

A state­ment by the Po­lice Ser­vice says that of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion will be per­form­ing a du­ty of care by pre­serv­ing or­der at the wake and that a High­way Pa­trol Unit will pro­vide the es­cort along the planned route to the fu­ner­al ser­vice and sub­se­quent­ly to the cre­ma­tion site in Ca­roni.

The fu­ner­al ser­vice be­gins at 9 am on Tues­day.
