One man remained under police guard at hospital after he was shot by police during an attempted kidnapping in San Juan on Saturday.
The incident took place during the wee hours, a short distance away from the San Juan Police Sub-Station.
Officials have declined to release the name of the victim until further investigations are conducted.
An eyewitness alerted officers who pursued the three suspects in a high-speed chase through the Barataria/San Juan district, ending near the market. Officers said the other suspects escaped along a nearby river leading into Febeau Village.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police yesterday arrested a murder suspect along the Solomon Hochoy Highway, Couva.
The 31-year-old driver of Diego Martin was said to also be suspect in several kidnappings.
Police said around 8.30 am, Highway Patrol Unit officers saw the driver of the white car speeding along the northbound lane of the highway.
They intercepted the car near the Indian Trail Overpass, Couva.
