The prae­di­al lar­ce­ny squad ar­rest­ed a man in pos­ses­sion of near­ly 1000 por­tu­gals and oth­er fruits in San­gre Grande.

Ear­li­er this week, of­fi­cers act­ing on in­tel­li­gence from vig­i­lant farm­ers, the Squad went to East­ern Main Road, in San­gre Grande en­gag­ing road­side ven­dors.

The man was ap­pre­hend­ed when he failed to pro­vide a sat­is­fac­to­ry ac­count of how he ob­tained the pro­duce.

The de­tained in­di­vid­ual, a 59-year-old man of Matu­ra, was charged by PC Archibald and grant­ed bail with sure­ty set at $20,000.

He is sched­uled to ap­pear be­fore a San­gre Grande Mag­is­trate on Jan­u­ary 18th.

The ex­er­cise was led by Sergeant Jef­fers along with Cor­po­rals Weekes and Phillip, Po­lice Con­sta­bles Ros­tant, Archibald, Kara­math, Car­rera, Em­mons, and Woman Po­lice Con­sta­bles Kirk and Stew­art.
