As the family of Randy Graves gathered to bid him farewell earlier this morning, the presiding priest urged the congregation to call out those in authority for failing to act when they are found doing “stupidness.”
Graves, 32, was among five people killed on March 17, when gunmen opened fire on residents of Harpe Place, Port-of-Spain.
Delivering the homily during Graves’s funeral at the Holy Rosary RC Church, Park Street, Port-of-Spain – Father Matthew Dhereaux pleaded with those present to stand up for goodness.
He said people need to choose an alternative way of life where the vulnerable and voiceless are protected.
Dhereaux challenged those listening to say no more to the corruption and lies, and to stand up to the rich and powerful persons behind the importation of illegal firearms into the country which were contributing to the flow of blood of innocent victims on the nation’s streets.
