Police have arrested a Princes Town man with a pistol and a quantity of ammunition.
The arrest was carried out by officers of the San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the district Sunday morning.
According to police reports, officers conducted the exercise between 1 am and 5 am on Sunday, during which they carried out searches at several bars along Coffee Street, San Fernando and in the Ste. Madeleine district.
During the exercise, officers searched a 35-year-old Princes Town man who was liming at a bar in the Ste. Madeleine district.
The search resulted in the pistol and seven rounds of 9mm ammunition being discovered in his possession.
Investigations are ongoing.
