A 26-year-old Chaguanas man, described by police as a “high-ranking member” and a “shooter” for the Rated R gang, has been arrested and is expected to be charged after a brief chase on Friday afternoon.
Police said officers of the CID/CRO Special Operations Unit went to Enterprise, Chaguanas, around 4.30 pm when they noticed a man standing at the side of the road.
Police said officers recognised the man as someone for whom a Preventative Detention Order (PDO) had been issued.
Officers got out of the vehicle and chased the suspect after he ran through a nearby yard, but they eventually caught and arrested him.
Police also found a chrome revolver with two rounds of ammunition.
The exercise was strategically directed by DCP Intelligence and Investigations Natasha Joseph, co-ordinated by head of the Criminal Division ACP Richard Smith, and led by Snr Supt Anderson Pariman.
