Joshua Brown, of Co­coyea Vil­lage, San Fer­nan­do is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear at the Port of Spain Mag­is­trates’ Court to­day, af­ter be­ing charged with lar­ce­ny.

He was charged for the of­fence on Feb­ru­ary 4.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, dur­ing the pe­ri­od April 2, 2022 and April 23 2022, a vic­tim paid sums to­tal­ing of $37,000, for the pur­chase of a white Nis­san Note mo­tor ve­hi­cle. The vic­tim was al­leged­ly led to be­lieve that Brown was au­tho­rized to sell the ve­hi­cle.

The vic­tim nev­er re­ceived the ve­hi­cle, and lat­er dis­cov­ered that Brown did not have con­sent and or au­tho­riza­tion to sell the said ve­hi­cle. Ef­forts by the vic­tim to get a re­fund proved fu­tile.

Sub­se­quent­ly, a re­port was made to the Fraud Squad of­fice, Port of Spain and PC Lutch­man led in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the mat­ter. As a re­sult, Brown was ar­rest­ed and was charged on the Feb­ru­ary 6.
