Head of the Special Victims Department Superintendent Claire Guy-Alleyne has confirmed that the woman seen in a video verbally and physically abusing two children has been charged with two counts of cruelty.
She was arrested last Wednesday after police went to the Hunt Road San Juan location hours after the video surfaced on social media.
According to Guy-Alleyne, during the joint effort between her department and the Children's Authority, both the children and the woman were questioned.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Barataria Police Station to assist with inquiries and the two children (ages three and nine) were taken for medical attention and then placed in the care of the Children's Authority.
In March, another woman was charged with cruelty after she was recorded kicking down a child. She was sent to St. Ann's Hospital for a two-week observation.
