Over a dozen Venezue­lan girls and women were de­tained dur­ing a po­lice op­er­a­tion at a pop­u­lar club in San­gre Grande yes­ter­day af­ter­noon.

Around 4 pm, of­fi­cers from the San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion car­ried out a sur­prise vis­it to the es­tab­lish­ment, where they found rough­ly 28 fe­males, rang­ing from teenagers to women in their late 20s.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve the group may have en­tered the coun­try il­le­gal­ly.

The women were ex­pect­ed to be hand­ed over to of­fi­cers of the Im­mi­gra­tion Di­vi­sion for ques­tion­ing and fur­ther ac­tion.
