Police shot and killed a man on Thursday morning in Santa Cruz.
The incident occurred hours after a Laventille man died after being shot by officers on Wednesday night.
Police said Aaron Benjamin, also known as Sequea, 31, of Petit Curacaye, Santa Cruz, was shot and killed during an anti-crime operation on Thursday morning.
Police said around 6 am, officers executed a search at Benjamin’s home under the Emergency Regulations 2025. When they entered the house, they said, Benjamin jumped up from a couch and pointed a black metal object at them. Shots were fired, and he collapsed.
Benjamin was taken by officers to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he died while being treated.
