A 32-year-old scaffolder from Morne Diablo is expected to appear before a Siparia Magistrate today to answer to the charge of burglary and two counts of malicious damage.
According to official police reports, the charges against MARVIN GABRIEL stem from an incident which occurred on Saturday 7th November 2020.
Reports are that at 1 pm on that date, a couple residing at Gamble Street, Siparia, were awoken by the sound of the suspect attempting to enter their home through a window.
The couple raised an alarm and the man stopped his attempt to enter the house, and instead turned his attention to a Nissan B-13 vehicle parked at the front of the house.
The victims told police that a man began smashing the vehicle with a wheel spanner and hammer, damaging both the front and rear windshields, both front head lights, rear left side tail light and right side indicator light.
The victims told police that after damaging their car, the suspect then approached their home once more and began smashing louvre panes. He then left and began running along Gamble Street, Siparia.
Officers of the Siparia Police Station were called in and checks were made for the suspect who was later arrested along Grell Street, Siparia.
WPC Vincent subsequently charged MARVIN GABRIEL of Quarry Road, Morne Diablo, for the offences of burglary and two counts of malicious damage.
The matter will be heard today, Monday 9th November 2020, at the Siparia Magistrates’ Court.
