A se­cu­ri­ty guard was shot in the face dur­ing an ar­gu­ment with a man on Tues­day morn­ing while at El Do­ra­do.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, the 38-year-old of­fi­cer was in the com­pa­ny with an­oth­er se­cu­ri­ty guard at a bar, along Wilkin­son Street at about 1.20 am when they got in­to an ar­gu­ment with a man. The man then left the scene in a Nis­san Ti­i­da.

How­ev­er, af­ter a few min­utes, the said man was seen walk­ing up the street to­wards both se­cu­ri­ty guards.

When he was close enough to them he pulled out a firearm and opened fire at the of­fi­cers, He then ran away.

One of the of­fi­cers was shot in the left side of the face. The oth­er of­fi­cer es­caped un­hurt.

The wound­ed of­fi­cer was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex in Mt Hope where he was treat­ed and dis­charged.

Po­lice re­cov­ered four spent shells on the scene.
