The Caribbean Centre for Human Rights (CCHR) has announced the appointment of Sheldon Sookram as its Legal Officer for Strategic Litigation, a key role within the organisation.
In a statement on Thursday, CCHR said the significant addition
to its team is made possible through the support of the United Nations High Commissioner of RefugeesCCHR (UNHCR) and Open Society Foundation (OSF).
Sookram will lead efforts to advance impactful human rights litigation and advocacy across the Caribbean region.
Sookram brings a robust legal background with extensive experience in public law, constitutional law, and judicial review. Sookram has successfully handled matters involving workers’ rights, personal injury, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, and more.
His work has spanned drafting pleadings, witness statements, legal opinions, and court advocacy.
