Joel Charles, 27, of Orange Field Road, Carapichaima, was killed and another man was wounded in a shooting along Orange Field Road, Carapichaima, early Friday morning.
Police said around 4.50 am, Charles was reversing a white Nissan B15, registration PBM 682, south along a side road off Orange Field Road. A 25-year-old man was in the front passenger seat.
When the vehicle reached the vicinity of Mungal Trace, a white Nissan Tiida blocked its path and several loud explosions were heard.
Both men were shot and taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility.
Charles suffered five gunshot wounds, including two to his lower back and injuries to both buttocks. He was later pronounced dead.
The second victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to both thighs and four wounds to his buttocks, as well as a pelvic fracture.
No descriptions of the suspects were available.
