Six illegal immigrants detained in Tobago

Six per­sons found to be in the coun­try il­le­gal­ly, have been de­tained by To­ba­go Po­lice.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports, four Venezue­lans and two Cubans were hand­ed over to Im­mi­gra­tion Di­vi­sion af­ter they were dis­cov­ered by of­fi­cers of the Crown Point Po­lice Sta­tion.

The Cubans, who have been in coun­try re­port­ed­ly since Sep­tem­ber 2019, were found at Bon Ac­cord De­vel­op­ments on May 19th, 2020.

Mean­while, the Venezue­lans, who are thought to have en­tered the coun­try af­ter the clo­sure of the coun­try’s bor­ders, were ap­pre­hend­ed on Gaskin Bay Road, Bon Ac­cord.

The ar­rests were made by Cpl Thomas and Sgt Ster­ling of the Crown Point Po­lice Sta­tion.

The mat­ter has been turned over to Im­mi­gra­tion Di­vi­sion for fur­ther in­quiries.
