Taxi driver "shocked", car stolen
A 55-year-old taxi driver was shocked with a device and then robbed after he stopped to pick up two Spanish-speaking men in Marabella.
The taxi driver told police that around 5.30 am on Monday he was heading north along Battoo Avenue in his white Y11 Nissan AD Wagon when he stopped for the suspects who pretended to be passengers.
One of the suspects sat in the front passenger seat. The other approached the driver's window, struck the driver on his face, and then stunned him with an electric weapon on his stomach.
He then dragged the driver out of his vehicle, and drove off with it.
