For the sixth consecutive year, businessman Dave Singh and his family continue to spread Christmas cheer by transforming their home into a majestic Christmas display.

Lit with thousands of neon lights, a tall Christmas tree, lit coconut palms, decorations and characters, the home at Rosalind Drive, Palmiste, has attracted visitors from across the country.

Singh told Guardian Media that his efforts to “light up” were inspired by his daughter Christyana six years ago, and every year since then, it has grown bigger and bigger, attracting families from all over the country.

He said, “We are humbled to provide a place for children and families to visit and spend time taking selfies, photos and creating memories together. The smiles on the faces of kids and adults alike, in awe of the lighting show, is enough to repay the effort it takes to put on such a display.

“Amidst the daily challenges we all face, Christmas is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. In T&T, we have a special blend of Christmas … celebrated by all Christians and non-Christians … with our own Trini touch of food, friends and family.”

On behalf of his family, he wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Delia Matloo visited the home on Monday evening with her daughter and other relatives.

She said, “We were very surprised when we saw all the lights and especially the Christmas tree, it’s so very tall and colourful and bright. My daughter is very impressed by the entire thing.”

Another visitor Kavita Seepersad, of Debe, said she has been visiting the house around Christmas for the past three years.

“Today is also my birthday, and a good friend brought me out to see lights to make everything complete. This is the third year I am coming here and every year they just keep adding more and more lights and it’s pretty extravagant, you can actually feel the Christmas spirit.” She said her Christmas wish is for the authorities to get control over the crime situation.
