Pan Trinbago president Beverly Ramsey-Moore has praised the support of corporate T&T, who she says allowed them to support all 300 steelbands across the country for the just concluded 2025 Carnival celebrations through an overall $4 million in sponsorship.
She made the statement while delivering the opening address at ‘Carnival Lagniappe – A Night With The Champs’ at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, on Saturday night.
Ramsey-Moore said, “As an organsation, at least most people believe that we are receiving subventions from Government. We do not receive subvention from Government. We work [and] receive monies through our events and memberships and so we want you to know that corporate support is very important to our organisation, and as such, we saw a tremendous amount of support from corporate T&T, where we were able to raise over $4 million through corporate support.”
She also praised the pan fraternity for a “golden” season, one which was celebrated on the backdrop of the steelpan being made the national instrument.
“Panorama 2025 has been a landmark event marking the first Panorama where our beloved instrument holds the official designation as our national musical instrument. Panorama 2025 was truly golden, unmatched in energy, attendance and community spirit,” Ramsey-Moore said.
She hailed the 2025 season, “from the pan yards to the grand stage,” as a unifier of generations to bring people together.
Republic Bank Exodus was crowned the 2025 National Panorama large band conventional winner, ending a 20-year drought. bp Renegades placed second while San Fernando’s Heritage Petroleum Skiffle Steel Orchestra placed third. Among the medium bands, Katzenjammers topped the field while NGC Couva Joylanders was second and Pamberi third.
