A 33-year-old St Ann’s man was killed as he walked to­wards his home yes­ter­day morn­ing af­ter buy­ing dou­bles.

Po­lice said Nick­el Mor­ris left his house and went out to pur­chase dou­bles and a soft drink. He drove back to his St Ann’s Road home around 8.02 am.

Mor­ris locked the doors of his black Nis­san Almera and was walk­ing to­wards his house when a sil­ver wag­on drove near him.

Two gun­men came out of the ve­hi­cle and shot Mor­ris sev­er­al times be­fore get­ting back in the car and dri­ving off. Res­i­dents heard the gun­shots and called the po­lice.

Mor­ris died on the spot.

Of­fi­cers from the Port-of-Spain Task Force were on pa­trol in the area and were called in.

Sev­er­al spent 9 mm shells were al­so found at the scene.

Po­lice from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion I are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
