Quick re­sponse by the po­lice re­sult­ed in a stolen ve­hi­cle be­ing re­cov­ered in La Ro­main, al­though the sus­pects es­caped.

The 27-year-old own­er parked his beige Nis­san Almera in an un­se­cured garage in front of his Pond Street home, with the key in the ig­ni­tion around 12.45 am yes­ter­day.

How­ev­er, around 3.20 am he dis­cov­ered his car val­ued $30,000 miss­ing.

Fol­low­ing a re­port, PC Kan­hai and oth­er of­fi­cers of the San Fer­nan­do CID, South­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force and Crime Pa­trol units in­ter­cept­ed the car in the area.

The two oc­cu­pants, how­ev­er, quick­ly ex­it­ed and elud­ed the of­fi­cers at the cor­ner of Church and Gail Streets.
