Two men were arrested and a motor vehicle that was reported stolen recovered, by officers of the Eastern Division over the weekend.
Officers of the Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department with the assistance of officers of the Eastern Division Task Force (EDTF) conducted an intelligence-led exercise between 3:30 am and 8 am, on Sunday 27th November, 2022, during which they targeted suspects wanted in connection with a report of armed robbery.
During the robbery, which took place on Friday 25th November, 2022, a male victim’s Nissan Wingroad motor vehicle was taken from him at gun point at Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande.
Officers conducted investigations which resulted in search warrants being executed at the home of one suspect. There, officers found and arrested one man in connection with the incident.
A second suspect subsequently surrendered to officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station. The stolen vehicle was also recovered during the exercise by officers of the Matura Police Station.
The men are expected to face charges of robbery with aggravation and appear before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today.
