Police investigators are asking for any assistance from the members of the public that would lead to the arrest of the people responsible for the break-in and larceny at Daily Essentials Supermarket and Pharmacy in Chase Village, Chaguanas, which occurred on Saturday morning.
Guardian Media was told that at about 1:50 am on Saturday April 2nd, an unidentified man reportedly pried open a burglar-proofed gate and then smashed the glass door of the establishment, which is located downstairs a residential/commercial building near Innovation Drive.
According to CCTV footage captured inside the store, the lone thief was seen stealing cash, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, condoms, and batteries.
He then escaped in one of two waiting cars—a silver Tiida and a blue wagon.
Police said the value of the stolen goods is yet to be ascertained but believe that it is in excess of $20,000.
Investigations are continuing.
