A 67-year-old man from Pe­tit Val­ley has been ar­rest­ed and a firearm has been re­cov­ered, fol­low­ing a re­port of the wound­ing of a man and his four-year-old rel­a­tive.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, around 7:50 am to­day (Sat­ur­day, Feb­ru­ary 24, 2024), a 50-year-old man was walk­ing along Sto­er Dri­ve with a four-year-old rel­a­tive. He en­coun­tered a 67-year-old man with whom he has had a long-stand­ing feud.

There was an ex­change of words be­tween both men, dur­ing which the sus­pect al­leged­ly pulled a firearm from his waist.

The 50-year-old grabbed the young boy and while run­ning to­wards his home heard loud ex­plo­sions and felt burn­ing to his right hand. The child al­so cried out and the man no­ticed there was blood along his right hand as well.

Both man and child were rushed to the St. James Med­ical Hos­pi­tal where they were at­tend­ed to.

Cur­rent­ly, both vic­tims are list­ed in sta­ble con­di­tion with non-life-threat­en­ing in­juries.

The sus­pect was sub­se­quent­ly ar­rest­ed, and a firearm was re­cov­ered.
