Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect/s believed to be responsible for dumping two duffle-bags containing over $100,000 in marijuana at the side of the road near the old Piarco International Airport on Thursday night.
According to a police report, officers assigned to the North Division Task Force (NDTF) were on mobile patrol in Piarco on Thursday shortly after 11 pm when they got a tip-off about drugs in the area.
The officers went to a bushy area on the outskirts of the old airport where they found the two duffle-bags filled with 32 packets containing marijuana. The drugs weighed approximately 11 kilogrammes.
Guardian Media was told that investigators have already received critical information and may have a lead on the persons who dropped the drugs there.
PC Elliott, of NDTF Area Central, is investigating.
