Primary school teacher Kevin Doman, who was allegedly caught with cocaine at his workplace, has been granted $65,000 bail.
Master Kimitria Gray granted bail after she received a report from St Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital where he had been sent by the court to undergo a 14-day evaluation.
The court ordered that he attend a psychiatric clinic at the San Fernando General Hospital and stay at his brother’s house.
Doman, who has been teaching for 20 years, was arrested on September 23 at the St Julien Presbyterian School and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Initial reports stated that officers were on an exercise in the Princes Town district, when they responded to a report at the school.
It is alleged that the officers approached Doman in an empty classroom, searched a knapsack which was in his possession and allegedly found a quantity of cocaine.
The drugs weighed 3.39 grams.
Doman was represented by attorney Petronilla Basdeo.
The matter was adjourned to November 17. —Sascha Wilson
