Two teenage boys and a 42-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the theft and attempt to sell laptops belonging to a secondary school.
Police said the principal of the Malabar Secondary School was informed that four laptops were listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace on October 1.
One of the serial numbers for one of the four Lenovo V14 G4 laptops belonging to the school matched the serial number of one of the laptops up for sale.
After making checks at the school, the principal realised four laptops were missing and made a police report a day later.
Police said the principal reported that no one was given permission to remove the laptops, and there were no signs of forced entry at the school.
Officers mounted an investigation and recovered two of the laptops. Two teenagers and an adult male were held. Police did not reveal if the students attended the Malabar Secondary School.
One of the teens lives at Las Lomas, another at Sangre Chiquito, while the man is from Enterprise.
Malabar is one of the schools where police officers are assigned to address school violence.
In an unrelated incident, police are looking into the vandalism of several vehicles belonging to teachers at the Mucurapo East Secondary School. The incident is said to have occurred yesterday.
The teachers’ vehicles appeared tohave been keyed and scraped.
Police said while they were made aware of the incident circulating on social media, there has been no official report from officials at the school. Mucurapo East is not one of the 80 schools with a police presence.
