A male teen was arrested and a firearm and ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise in the Eastern Division on Saturday.
Police said officers of the Valencia Police District conducted the Operation Steady Guard exercise between 8 am and 10 am on May 16, during which they arrested a teen from the area.
Officers allegedly found the teen in possession of a pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition.
Snr Supt Paponette, Supt Beharry, ASP Russell, Insp (Ag) Harper and Sgt (Ag) Rampersad coordinated the exercise, which included officers of the Eastern Division Task Force.
Investigations are ongoing.
