Three people, including two teenagers, were shot and wounded in Wallerfield on Wednesday night after gunmen opened fire on them.
Investigators told Guardian Media that 17-year-old Kareem Patrick, Shazim Hypolite,16 and Antonio Marcano, 29, all from the Wallerfield area, were standing near a shop at Chaconia Drive around 8.20 pm when two gunmen came out of a vehicle and opened fire.
The three victims were hit in their lower bodies. The gunmen then escaped in the waiting car.
The wounded teens and the man were taken to the Arima Hospital where they were treated.
Senior police sources told Guardian Media that the men's injuries are non-life threatening. They believe the shooting incident stemmed from an issue involving a woman.
Sgt Haynes of the Arima Police Station is on the scene and continuing investigations into the matter.
Earlier Wednesday there were two other shootings in East Trinidad.
One in Aranguez left 25-year-old Isiah Chioke Cadet dead and another unidentified man injured just after 3 pm, while around noon in Mount Lambert two men were shot and injured in an unconnected incident.
